We have been specializing in newborn baby photography for years, and we know what we're doing!  We have literally photographed hundreds of newborns.

Curious as to what to expect in a newborn session?  Click here!

Currently we are doing newborn sessions in-studio or in the comfort of your home (please ask for details).

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I SCHEDULE MY NEWBORN PHOTO SESSION?

I can book up a month or so in advance (especially during the busy times (late summer, fall, and around holidays).  Please call to book your session while you are still pregnant (about 2 months before your due date).  I only book one newborn session a day, so I have limited availability.   When you call, we will guess on a date and get that on the calendar.  Once baby arrives, we will confirm that time or move the session date/time as necessary.

IF YOUR BABY HAS ALREADY ARRIVED, call ASAP to check our schedule.  I may be able to squeeze you in.

WHAT AGE IS BEST TO PHOTOGRAPH MY NEWBORN BABY?

I love to photograph babies within the first 2 weeks of birth.  That's when the magic can happen.  They are tiny, still wrinkly, and haven't figured out they're born yet (so they're not to active).  At 3 weeks, it can get really difficult to get those cute poses, but still doable so please call if this is you!  Of course if you have an early delivery or if there are any complications, we can accommodate.

CAN YOU TAKE THE NEWBORN PHOTOS AT MY HOME?

YES!  Let's discuss details!

HOW LONG WILL THE SESSION LAST?

A typical newborn session can last 2 hours.  If baby is cooperating and asleep, things can move much faster.

DO YOU HAVE PROPS?

I provide blankets, wraps, and baskets and am always adding new things.  I have lots of headbands and knitted hats/outfits you are welcome to use.  You can also bring a special blanket, heirloom piece or other items that are near and dear to you (we've utilized deer antlers, football Jerseys, golf club/ball, baseball mitt, fireman hat, etc,),  These are the details we discuss in depth during the in-person consultation.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS LIKE?

After the initial phone conversation, we sit down for an in-person consultation (usually 15 or so minutes in length) where we discuss outfits, location, and the details of what you are envisioning for your photo shoot.  If we do this consultation in your home, I can even help you determine where to hang the beautiful images, and what sizes will fit perfectly on the wall.  I understand your time is valuable, and I only take as much time as we need to get the details.

The day of the photo shoot, I block out 1 hour for your portrait session, but you we won't rush and will take as much time as we need.

Then about a week later or so later, we will get together to view the beautiful images.  I may take a hundred images, but will pull out the blinks, the blurry ones, and the duplicates to only show you the best so it's not overwhelming, and will help you through the selection process.

DO I HAVE TO DO THE IN-PERSON CONSULTATION?

As a full-service, boutique studio, it is important to me that I serve my clients on the highest level.  I get to know who I am photographing before the session and get all the details necessary so that I can work in a manner to create the beautiful artwork you are wanting.  This information gives me the plan for what I will focus the day of the photo shoot.  I've had clients who didn't do the in-person consultation be so disappointed when we got together for the image selection process because they saw samples of what others had done and wanted that as well.  Because we hadn't planned that as part of the photo shoot, I didn't photograph in that manner.  This is especially true if I was photographing for a beautiful wall portrait only to find out later that they also wanted an album, which I photograph differently for.  These things all get sorted out in the in-person consultation so we have a precise plan of the look and feel of the artwork and products you are wanting.
