Mini Sessions at the Creek

Fall is here, and with it comes one of my favorite mini session locations of the year — a beautiful creek spot in South Kansas City with golden evening light, a paved path that makes it easy for everyone (yes, even grandma and the stroller), and a peaceful, natural setting all season long.

I'm opening up a handful of spots on Saturday, October 3rd for Creek Sunset Mini Sessions, and if you've been wanting updated family photos before the holidays hit, this is it.

Why a Mini Session?

Mini sessions are quick, low-pressure, and perfect if:

• You want updated photos for holiday cards or gifts without a full hour-long session

• Your kids (or your patience) max out well before 60 minutes

• You just need a few really good, current images of your people

In and out in 15 minutes, with beautiful light and a gorgeous backdrop the whole time.

The Details

Date: Saturday, October 3, 2026

Time: 5:45pm–7:05pm (evening golden hour light)

Location: South Kansas City, MO, near 103rd & State Line — a short, easy walk along a paved path to the creek

Session length: 15 minutes (best for immediate families, couples, or individual portraits — extended family groups should book a full session or two back-to-back minis)

Only 3 spots are available, so they will go quickly.

What's Included — $295

What to Wear

Anything goes! A few ideas that photograph beautifully at the creek this time of year:

• Neutrals: cream, taupe, gray

• Jewel tones: emerald, burgundy, mustard, navy

• Earthy tones: rust, olive, deep brown

Solid colors and small patterns tend to photograph best — try to avoid neon or bright white.
